Unr Extension offers gardening seminars – Appeal in Nevada

The University of Nevada, Reno Extension launches its weekly workshops, Gardening in Nevada: Bartley Rancho, to help new and experienced gardeners improve their gardening skills.

Guided by the extension and certified master gardeners and offered in partnership with regional parks and open space of Washoe County, the classes hold 18:00 on Tuesday, starting from February 18 to April 1 at the Bartley Ranch Regional Park, 6000 Bartley Ranch Road in Renault.

The classes are taught by certified staff for extension or volunteers of the chief gardener. • February 18

• February 25

• March 4: Pond/Water Gardening – Coordinator of the Chief Gardener of the extension Rachel McClur will discuss gardening with water bodies and water characteristics.

• March 11: Vegetable journal, starting – the chief gardener Diane Muniel will share the value of garden journals and tips to help you along the way.

• March 18: The sliced ​​flower garden – the chief gardener Deborah Henderson will discuss how to choose, grow and harvest plants for sliced ​​flowers and share tips for collecting bouquets.

• March 25: Successful gardening for the core-gardener Randy Robyson will share tips for tested vegetables in our unique climate and conditions.

• April 1: From this year’s flowers to the plants next year, everything for the seeds – the main gardeners Rod Haulenbeek and Mark Humphreys will talk about gardening with seeds.
