UNR and partners host the “Know Your Rights” event for undocumented students at Reno – Foxreno.com

In the light of the increasing challenges that immigrant communities face, the University of Nevada, Renault (UNR) and several public organizations are taking proactive steps to support undocumented students. The underdeveloped student program, in collaboration with IPPANIC/Latinx Community Relations, the Student Union of Joe Crowley, the progressive Nevada leadership alliance (Plan) and Make the Road Nevada (MRNV), organizes the “Know Your Rights” event.

The event aims to equip immigrant students basic knowledge of their constitutional rights and to provide them with tools for orientation in potential meetings with immigration agencies for immigration. This initiative comes in response to the latest policy statements from the current administration, which have intensified fears among students at Immigrant College.

Participants will have access to vital legal information, mental health resources and updates on policies affecting their future. The event will include discussions led by experts and interactive Q&A sessions covered by rights when approached by immigration agencies, access to legal and mental health and the latest developments of the DACA and the Laken Riley Act.

The Know Your Rights event is scheduled for Wednesday, February 12 from 11:30 to 12:30 at the Student Union Theater of Joe Crowley, located on the third floor of 1664 N Virginia St.
