UNCW Business School Grad launches a new phone app – Wect

Wilmington, NC (Wect) – Have you ever turned to your phone and think that there may be an app for that? If you have, you are not alone.

Co -founders Nico Mancuso and Austin Bates consider the same thing that prompted them to create Roshi.

“Do you remember the old advertising slogan that there is an app for this? It turns out that we didn’t want to do, “said co -founder Austin Bates.

Roshi is the first training application app for students to mentor children in the Wilmington Community.

The purpose of the app is to allow children to feel better related to their coach because they can connect closer to age and also allow parents to feel confident that they trust their child, As the coach he is a student at the university.

From mathematics, reading or even additional learning activities, the app does everything. You can even pay through the app.

“We are honestly only on the market that allows these two countries to meet and then we built tools to make it every effective and effective payment processing schedule, etc.” said co -founder Nico Mancuso.

Roshi’s co -founders say that this not only helps students study, but also those who are looking for additional income.

“I don’t know about another area where a university student can go and win that type of money,” Mancuso said.

According to a press release from Roshi’s co -founders, it offers the following solutions for students, parents and universities:

  1. It eliminates the complexity of finding high quality, affordable private instructions by providing a network of verified students who offer personalized mentoring and can easily be connected to peers.
  2. It creates flexible and rewarding opportunities for students who are aligned with their areas of experience. According to the National Center for Education Statistics, 40 percent of full -time students have been hired.
  3. It serves as a powerful tool for universities to encourage deeper relationships with their local communities. When advertised through the platform, Roshi manages commitment, facilitates targeted communication, attracts local talent and increases the attendance of collegial events.

Mancuso and Bates met their freshman at college. From there, they became the brothers of the Brotherhood, the newlyweds of each other’s weddings, so far co -founders of their business.

They attribute their success to many years of friendship and support that they share, but also education from their UNCW teachers.
