UCI Men Volleyball Mede Stanford, expands the winning series – a new university

No. 2 UC Irvine extended its invincible series to 7-0 with a hard win with three sets over No. 9 Stanford (3-3) on February 1 at Maples Pavillion. The anti-ate beat the cardinals in an exciting match with results of 25-23, 25-18 and 33-31. This victory came just after UC Ervine defeated Stanford the previous day in three sets.

Set 1

Stanford took a lead from an early 5-3 in the first set, taking advantage of the rear service from UC Irvine. Both teams have traded points many times throughout the set, and none can create more than two points ahead. UC Irvine Junior Medium Blocker Max Grigoriev helped to displace inertia in favor of anteatters with service axis at the rear, finishing five points and leading the score to 20-17.

Senior external strikers Hillir Heno and Nolan Flexen continued the thrust of three-point mileage, bringing out UC Irvine forward 24-19. Stanford quickly adjusted his defense by blocking the next few UC Irvine attacks. Refusing to retreat, Stanford replied with a four-point mileage to shorten the lead to 24-23. UC Irvine remained calm under pressure, and the murder of Flexen at the match eventually provided the anteatrian kit at 25-23.

Set 2

The second set saw that both teams continue to exchange points early, binding to 2-2 and again at 5-5. Heno has influenced the homicides from the back to give UC Irvine a small lead, but Stanford replied with a three -point mileage to take a short time.

The UC Irvine then takes advantage of a series of errors in Stanford’s attack, resulting in four points and an advantage of 12-8 for anteaters. Stanford tried to collect many times, but failed to overcome the deficit of the timely killings of Heno. UC Irvine continued to expand the difference by pressing the score to 18-12. Several Heno employees have led to a number of mistakes in Stanford, and a middle -year -old blocker Mika Gos followed with attacks to extend the UC Irvine lead. Then Heno and Goss landed the last point, as UC Irvine closed the set with a 25-18 victory.

Set 3

With a washing in the sight, UC Irvine came out strong in the third set. The antitors continued with five points, nourished by three officials by Henno and a pair of killings from a freshman outside the attacker Tim Ennis. But Stanford settled on the game 8-8 and later at 11-11.

UC IRVINE fell apart with some errors in the attack and service, which allows Stanford to approach briefly and pick up speed. From there, the two teams traded points, finally reaching a draw 25-25. With the two teams to win with two, the battle has intensified.

UC Irvine Junior vs. William d’Arcy is activated with decisive points at the end of the set, setting the scene for the final point. An error in Stanford’s service and the strong service of Flexen gave the UC Irvine victory at 33-31, completing the break and maintaining its unbeaten record intact.

The victory marks another impressive performance for UC Irvine, which will return home for his upcoming match at Concordia University Arena against Concordia on February 8th.
