Rummel-U-High Football

University Lab, expected to be a top contender in Louisiana’s Division II division, has lost seven games due to the use of an ineligible player.

The lawyer was the first to report the fines. The Louisiana High School Athletic Association updated its schedule and results database with the losses.

The Cubs lost wins over Woodlawn, Catholic High, Collegiate Baton Rouge, St. Paul’s, Helix Mentorship Academy, Glen Oaks and Parkview Baptist.

Although the LHSAA has not released new unofficial power rankings heading into Week 10, GeauxPreps.com has the Cubs listed at No. 27 in its revised Division II draft picks. The top 24 in each selected division reach the playoffs.

Hurt by the news are the schools that beat U-High on the field, including Archbishop Rummel, which fell from fifth to sixth in the revised Division I rankings. Part of the ranking formula is strength of schedule.

Entering the final week of the regular season, Archbishop Shaw is atop the D-II polled rankings, with undefeated Haynes Academy second, Vandebilt Catholic third and ED White Catholic fourth.
