Two Washington State Snow Waves: What do you need to know – Newstalk870.am

The state of Washington is enhancing not one but two rounds of snow storms hitting Thursday to Sunday.

The largest snow is expected in the central and eastern part of the state with a storm system that moves through Washington. Another storm will follow closely behind, wearing more snow and cold temperatures before Sunday. Here’s what the most NOAA forecasts say about key areas:

The circle is hitting now

The first wave of snow will affect much of the country today on Thursday. Spokan will see snow, beginning this afternoon around 4:00 pm, and temperatures near 28 ° F. In the beginning, the accumulation of snow will be light by less than half an inch during the day. The snow will continue in the evening to another inch possible before midnight.

In Tri-Cities (Kennewick, Pasco and Richland), the snow will start later in the afternoon between 1:00 pm and 4:00 pm the total snow accumulation will be light, with less than an inch, but in the evening it will lead to 30 in the evening % chance of snow and temperatures immersed to 19 ° F overnight. In the Tri-Cities, the snow will be lighter on Friday, with only 20% chance before 10 am and high near 36 ° F, without significant snow accumulation. Saturday, cloudy sky 37 ° F, but by Saturday night, expect a 40% chance of rain or snow with a slight accumulation. There is a 50% chance of snow or rain on Sunday afternoon, but less than half an inch snow is expected.

Seattle will experience mixed rainfall on Friday, with a 60% chance of rain and snow before 4:00 pm. The temperatures on Friday will warm 41 ° F with little or no snow accumulation. The rain will most likely last on Saturday and Sunday with high temperatures near 43 ° F and 100% chance of rain in both days.

If you are traveling through Washington, be prepared for smooth and icy conditions, especially in central and eastern areas with a larger snow. Be prepared for difficult conditions for traveling on Thursday and Friday in Spokan, Yakima and Pullman, where up to 2 inches of snow can fall.
