Baton Rouge, La. (WAFB) – On Saturday, Baton Rouge Mardi Gras started with Krewe Mytique de la Capitale. The families filled the streets for this parade to capture everything they could, but a family with a plan to capture more than others.
“In the past, we brought a little basketball basketball hoop to encourage them to throw things and other things, and then we had this big one that our neighbor had broken, and we wanted to borrow it,” says Trevor Andrews, Paradeer of the mysticism of Krewe S
Andrews says he enjoys Mardi Grass, but it’s about having an experience with his children.
“When I have the opportunity to go crazy and disturb my children, I tend to use this opportunity,” Andrews added.
But the parade did not stop there when Krewe of Orion walks the same route because Mardi Gras is not just a one -time event, it’s a way of life for all who love Louisiana.
“I really did not focus on the culture that Mardi Grass is about Louisiana until I actually met Rachel, which is very cultivated and loves to try new things,” says Christina Strickland, Paradeer of Orion’s Crea.
Rachel and Christina Strickland went out to celebrate Orion, and although Rachel is not from here, she says Mardi Grass is a time like no other.
“I love how friendly everyone is, how everyone is trying to get together, it doesn’t matter what the background is, I love it,” Rachel added.
