Two men who attacked an 18-year-old man in Renault Park and put him in a coma for several months were sentenced to prison.
20-year-old Tyler Stokes and 23-year-old Kale Krigbaum were sentenced to 6-15 years for attempted murder and consistent 2-6 years for a prisoner battery.
The attack took place in December 2022 – as we reported earlier, Renault police were called in a battery report. After arriving, they found the 18-year-old victim heavily beaten and bloody.
The victim was taken to the hospital in a critical condition, where he remained in a coma for several months. Doctors said he would have cognitive disabilities for the rest of his life.
The Deputy Prosecutor General Aziz Merchant said that while they were waiting for a sentence, Stoks and Krigbaum were confronted with other prisoners in the prison of Washo County – he claims that this is additional proof of the violence of the couple and the need for a long sentence.
