The Tallahasese State College supports its annual tradition of celebrating the black achievements in the community with monthly spotlights.
This year, TSC will launch the long -awaited Cherry Hall 2025 Alexander African American History calendar on Monday, and the free almanacs will be available for community making in its campus.
With last year’s change of name from Tallahasesee Community College to TSC, creating many news for college, the publication marks the first time of college, creating the calendar under its new name. It also comes during the month of black history, which is observed annually a commemorative month to celebrate the achievements and contribution of Afro -Americans throughout history.
Each year, the TSC calendar has a different topic and distinguishes the local leaders who are highlighted for the work they do to promote the community and civic commitment in Leon County, as well as in the cities of Gadsden, Jefferson and a vacuum.
Former Director of Cherry Hall Alexander College Library Services is the founder of the Calendar initiative, which began in 2001. She took the role of events and activities of Black History Month at college before retiring in 2009 the calendar was named after her honor.
Last year’s monthly characteristics of black perfection in the calendar in 2024 under the theme “Afro -American and Arts” included the director of FAMU bands and professor of music Shelby Chipman, the main music arrangement of the Famu Marching 100 Anita FrankLe Linde Gospels, International Celebrity DJ Donnell Benson – known as DJ DEMP – and Chef Sonya Waters, owner of Luxe Personal Chef and Catering.
In addition to the monthly honors of the calendar, he also has the President President’s President Award and the highlight of students. People can take a copy of this year’s Afro -American History History in the TSC Hinson Administration building during the times listed above:
