Trump’s explanation for change
Trump has told the Truth Social that presidents can choose from seven desks and he has chosen the C&O desk as a temporary replacement. The C&M desk, originally built for the heads of Chesapeake and Ohio railway personnel, was donated to the White House in 1987.

The decision to remove the desk came days after Elon Musk visited the oval office with his 4-year-old son X æ A-12. Trump, known for his germophobia, did not directly refer to this as a reason for the removal of the desk, but emphasized the need for renovation.
