Trump defends Elon Musk as “great” during the Super Bowl interview – public radio in South Carolina

President Trump defended his first three weeks back to the White House – redirected by a federal government interruption and promises of US expansionism – during an interview with Bret Bayer on Fox News Channel, which aired on Super Bowl on Sunday.

One of Trump’s largest moves in his second term in the White House had asked billionaire Elon Musk to lead an entity called the Ministry of Government Efficiency to focus on reducing federal costs.

“I had a lot of help with Elon Musk, which was great,” Trump said during an interview that was pre -recorded and broadcast when Trump flew to New Orleans to attend a superboul personally, becoming the first US president for it.

Musk, a technological tycoon, turned into a special civil servant, had almost unlimited access to federal government services and information – including social security and bank account numbers. On Saturday, a federal judge temporarily blocks access to the Ministry of Finance to the Dog after a court case of 19 General Democratic Attorneys, citing the risk of “irreparable harm”.

“I disagree with this 100%,” Trump told the decision. “I think it’s crazy. And we have to solve the problem of efficiency.”

When asked about his confidence in Musk, Trump said his intentions were good.

“Trust the Elon?” Trump said, “Oh, he wins nothing. I’m actually wondering how he can spend the time for it. He’s so in him.”

With the support of Trump, Musk and his Doc department, they drastically shortened funding for the US Agency for International Development and promised to “close” it. On Friday, a court temporarily suspended the Trump administration from completely excluding the agency.

Trump said he directed Musk and his team to investigate the next departments of education and defense.

“We will find billions, hundreds of billions of dollars fraud and abuse,” the president said. “And, you know, people chose me for it.”

Space X – one of the Musk companies – received billions of dollars in state contracts from the Ministry of Defense.

Canada as “51st State”

During his speech to take office, Trump promised to “pursue our apparent fate in the stars” and send astronauts to Mars. During the intervention weeks, Trump also talks about the purchase of Greenland, turning Canada into the “51st country”, returning the Panama Canal and having a gas – all this without excluding the possibility of using US troops to achieve these expansionist goals.

Trump has doubled his desire Canada to join the United States during his interview with Bret Bayer on Fox News Channel.

“I think Canada would be much better to be a 51st country because we lose $ 200 billion a year with Canada,” Trump said.

Last week, Trump threatened hard tariffs for Mexico and Canada, but delayed them for 30 days after both sides promised to send 10,000 soldiers to guard the US borders. On Sunday, the president said these actions were not enough to stop possible tariffs.

“No, it’s not good enough,” Trump said. “It’s not sustainable and I change it.”

While flying at Air Force One to New Orleans, Trump told reporters that he would issue a 25% tariff for the import of aluminum and steel on Monday. He also plans to announce reciprocal tariffs for “all” on Tuesday or Wednesday: “If we charge us, we charge them. That’s all, “he said. “Every country will be reciprocal.”

He also stood with his desire that the United States would own and take a gas.

Trump in the Super Bowl

Trump’s interview with Fox News was broadcast hours before throwing the coin at Superdome in New Orleans, Los Angeles.

“I thought it would be good for the country to make the president be in the game,” Trump told his decision to attend personally.

Asked who thinks he will win the NFL championship, the president has elected chiefs because of the defender Patrick Mahomes.

“I guess you have to say that when a defender wins as much as he won, I have to go with Kansas City,” the president said. “I have to go with Kansas City. At the same time, Philadelphia has a fantastic – it will just be a great game.”

The president plays football at the New York Military Academy. Later, Trump continued to own the generals in New Jersey in the United States Football League. USFL competes briefly with NFL before folding.

In 2018, Trump disinnzen the Eagles of the White House after winning the Super Bowl Lii. At that time, the team would not have promised that all his players would stand with a hand on their heart for the national anthem.

Trump criticizes the players who kneel during the national anthem to protest racism – the movement started by Colin Kapernik in 2016.

The president’s Super Bowl visit comes after NFL’s decision to eliminate the slogans of Racism, written in the final zones of 2021. “Choose Love” will be littered in the end zone on Sunday.

“We have to get together,” Trump said on Sunday. “But to get together, there is only one thing that will do it and this is a huge success. Success will unite the country, but it is difficult.”
