Baton Rouge – After months of negotiations between the transit union and cats, members say things have not progressed.
The cats held a meeting on board on Tuesday night, where members of the amalgamy transit union were able to express their concerns again.
“We are committed to deal with the concerns that have arisen from employees in order to be in a way that is fair, fair and in the best interest of all participating countries,” said Cat President Melissa Degenez during the meeting.
“We were told we were on a stalemate, we asked for a ring letter, we asked for the best and most final offer, we did not receive any of them at the moment. We did not receive information regarding when we were going to meet again,” he said on The meeting time, the amalgam transit Union 1546 George Decuir.
Unhappy with the cat’s reaction, the Union says they take a position. Decuir says they will conduct a series of “workforce actions”, which means that they will continue to be voice about their concerns without violating operations.
But if the cats do not come to the table, the bus operators will hit.
“This will significantly affect the services within Baton Rouge. We don’t want to break our riding, we don’t want to break the city. This would be a last resort,” Decuir said.
Last week, 102 members of the CATS Union voted to move forward with a potential strike. They believe that their payment should reflect the concerns about the safety and security they have.
“We recently had one of our guardians recently attacked by a client of the bus terminal, they were struck in the face. Our life is threatened by customers daily. We are constantly spitting out, we cursed, attacked, so enough,” Decuir said.
Decuir says there is no date on when a strike will start or how many workforce actions plan to take before they become strikers.
