BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) – Believe it or not, we’ll be tracking the tropics for a potential tropical storm that could approach our area this weekend. Starting Monday, it will be a windy day with southeast winds between 10 and 20 mph, gusting a bit higher.
Today will start with a few showers, then become drier with a mix of sun and clouds, highs in the upper 80s.
In the tropics we have PTC#18 which is expected to become a Category 1 hurricane this week as it enters the Gulf. It is expected to weaken as it approaches the coast at the end of the work week. We’ll keep you posted, but in the meantime this looks like a storm that either won’t hit us, or if it does, it’ll be much weaker by then.
Forecast rain amounts this week will generally be around an inch.
There will be a lot of moisture making it very wet for most of the week.
In the extended, obviously our forecast depends on the Persian Gulf, but a small chance of rain is in the forecast.
