‘TPIR’: Drew Carey gets annoyed by contestant’s comment about LA – TV Insider

The price is right Host Drew Carey couldn’t help but laugh on a recent episode of the long-running game show when a contestant described her time in Los Angeles as “rough.”

A contestant named Cathy appeared on the show on October 16 and was called out by the studio audience on Contestants Row. After winning the pricing game, Cathy took to the stage to take part in the Cliff Hangers game, where a trip to London was up for grabs.

“Welcome to the big city, Cathy,” Carrie told the eager contestant. The price is right filmed its episodes at Haven Studios in Glendale, California.

“Thank you,” Cathy replied. “That was rude!”

Carey burst out laughing and even covered her microphone to try and hide her giggles.

“This traffic is too much,” Kathy continued.

“Bright lights, big city,” Carey added.

After composing herself, Kerry introduced Cathy to the game Cliff Hangers, where a hand-drawn mountain climber climbs a mountain based on how far the contestant drops the price of the prize. If the competitor misses too much, it can cause the climber to fall off the edge of the cliff.

Fortunately for Cathy, her guesses were spot on and she won the game and a vacation to another big city, London, England.

“She was HILARIOUS. we loved her,” one fan wrote on The price is right Instagram page.

“Oh my god, hilarious! I LOVE Drew’s laugh!!!!” said another.

“I just love Drew’s laugh LOL!” commented one viewer.

“Usually Drew does tricks like ‘Welcome to Glendale.’ This lady really surprised him,” wrote another.

Another added: “Had the pleasure of meeting Kathy and her husband in line. She had been to the show several times and thought she would NEVER be called back. Boy were we so excited to hear her name, cheer her on and scream when she won the trip to London!! “

Kathy herself responded to the clip on Facebook, explaining why she described her trip to Glendale as “rough.”

“It was hard because Grapevine was backed up for road construction the first day we went and we almost missed the show,” she shared. “We are so blessed to get to experience our time there, meet wonderful people and enjoy the excitement for every person who makes it to Come On Down.” I hope everyone takes the time to go and have a great time.”
