TPD: The man hurts three at strokes including an officer while trying to escape-Aol

A young man is against accusations after claiming to have injured two people in strokes and then injured an officer while trying to escape from the scene.

The 20 -year -old George Genopoulos was arrested on Tuesday on charges of driving under the influence and damage to a person or property, possessing a fraudulent driver’s license, strikes and running, avoiding police with damage and resistance without violence, according to court records. He was kept in the detention of Leon County.

Just after 1 in the morning, the officers responded to strikes and running, including another vehicle that led to life -threatening injuries at the intersection of Loren and West Madison Street, said Heather Merrit, a spokesman for the Talahassi police.

“The police quickly deployed the suspected vehicle and tried to stop the traffic, but the vehicle immediately crashed into the curb and then tried to escape from officers,” Merrit said.

Geanopoulos accelerated and crashed into the officer’s car as the officer tried to “safely” his car and prevent him from running.

The crash causes “Damage to Damage” of the vehicle, and the officer had minor injuries.
