In the first – medium -sized pickup truck was declared a Texas truck by the Texas Association of Authors (TAWA). The honors go to the all-new 2024 Toyota Tacoma, which won the crown after competing in the 31st Texas Rodeo truck, an event that brings together car journalists together to evaluate the trucks and SUVs of an off-road course. Tawa awarded the Houston Motor Show this week.
“The Texas Truck Award is prestigious and competitive, and Tacoma really won the title,” said Tava President Corey Furiket. “Tacoma impressed our members with its various estimates and new power units.”
The latest generation Tacoma debuted in 2023 with two new power units. The maximum hybrid power engine with the highest range supplies up to 326 horsepower and 465 pounds. of torque, which is a 75 percent increase in torque compared to the previous generation V-6 power truck.
“Having been the most popular pickup truck in the United States in the US in the last 20 years in a row, it is great to see the all-new Tacoma to be introduced to a Texas truck,” says Dera Delili, Vice President of Toyota Marketing and vehicle communications. “It is an honor for us that Tava recognized Tacoma as the first Texas truck from a segment other than a full -size pickup truck.”
