Topeka, Kan. (WIBW) – The Center for Peace and Justice of Topeka held a peaceful retiring tonight in the Kansas capital on Monday afternoon.
People went to Capitol to draw attention to many urgent problems in our community, including the dismissal of test workers, homelessness, health and war.
Many supporters also appeared to recognize the hand that Topeka played in the support of Ukrainian refugees after a war broke out on that day in 2022.
Yana Ross, CEO of Top City Promise, says it is important to talk about the vulnerable population.
“It was a very terrible time. I still have my grandmother to live in Ukraine and I’ve always told everyone without the Topeka community that there will be no highest promise in the city and there will be no over 70 Ukrainian families, “says Ross.
