Winter road is dangerous by cold slippery snow

San Diego, California – snowfall and dangerous travel conditions are expected in parts of southern California, as the winter warning remains in force. The recommendations cover the mountains of San Diego and the valleys Apple and Lucerne.

According to the National Meteorological Service, the mountains of San Diego County will see snow accumulation from 2 to 4 inches, with up to 6 inches in some areas. The recommendations for this region are active by 4:00 pm on Monday, with slippery roads likely to prevent the morning trip to the workplace.

In the Apple and Lucerne valleys, including Victorville, Hesperia and Apple Valley, a mix of rain and snow will lead to an inch accumulation near the foot of San Bernardino. This warning is in force until 10 in the morning on Monday.

Drivers are urged to reduce speed and be careful, especially on bridges and overpasses where there are icing. Travelers can access an up -to -date road environment by calling 511.

Officials recommend delayed travel, if possible, and preparing for delays during Monday’s trip.
