Three suspects accused of stealing cemeteries in the amount of $ 100,000

Wilmington, de – Delaware state police have arrested three Newark residents in connection with a series of thefts from the All Saints cemetery on the Kirkwood highway, which is said to have been stolen from tombstones.

The incidents, which took place between September and November 2024, involved four suspects who enter the cemetery after hours, the elimination of ceremonial vases from grave markers and running from the stage with the stolen objects. Authorities estimate the value of the stolen property to exceed $ 100,000.

The investigation revealed that the suspects allegedly sold the stolen vases to a new castle recycling center repeatedly, using another person’s identification to perform transactions.

On February 19, 2025, the troops executed orders for the search and arrest of the Newark residence, taking 34-year-old Thomas Hudson, 32-year-old Ashley Newcomb, and 37-year-old Alona Mossley in custody without incidents. The fourth suspect remains unidentified and the investigation continues.

The three persons face multiple fees, including the theft of property worth $ 100,000 or more, the sale of stolen goods and a conspiracy. Following their contracts, Hudson and Mosley are committed to the correctional institution Howard R. Young, while Newcom was placed in Delores J. Baylor female correction institution. The bonds were set at over $ 23,000 for Hudson and Mosley and nearly $ 25,000 for Newcom.

Authorities are urging anyone with additional information about the case to contact Delaware State Police or Delaware Stoppers of Crime.

All persons are supposed to be innocent until they are proven to be guilty of court.
