An Idaho city has made a way to a healthier honor.

Boise has recently been awarded the Gold Bicycle Bicycle Award (BFC) for his efforts to create better places for cyclists.

The award was awarded by the League of American cyclists and recognizes community cities and partners to create transport and entertainment services that are beneficial to residents who also encourage sustainable and more healthier transportation capabilities.

“In the last four years, Boise continues to prioritize and invest in projects that provide safe and reliable transportation opportunities in our growing city,” said Mayor Lauren McLean. “I am proud of the work we have done to extend the safety and accessibility of cyclists throughout the community.”

According to the city of Boyz, 91 new and renovating honors have joined the current 460 current “bicycle communities” within the US in the US Boise there has been a rating of silver for more than 10 years.

“After more than a decade with a silver rating, we are beyond excited when we see Boise reach Gold, one of the best levels that the community can receive,” said City Council member Jimmy Haliberton. “This award recognizes the collective efforts of the city of Boise, Achd, CCDC, local non -profit organizations, dozens of bicycle business and countless members of the Community to progress safe, affordable and joyful bicycle opportunities in Boise.”

Ada County also won the Golden Level Award. Both the city and the county were the only two communities that moved to the gold in the current round of the ranking.

Communities must renew their status every four years, and each time they apply. A message stated that some of the improvements that helped to achieve the gold ranking are miles of new bicycles, collaboration with organizations such as Boise Bicycle Project, West Bench and safe routes for various transport and safety initiatives.

“It was a beautiful effort in the community,” Haliberton said. “I hope everyone gets on their bikes to celebrate this basic achievement.”

Haliberton added that the city and partners will review the reviews given by the League of American cyclists to work until platinum ranking.
