A new breakfast for breakfast comes to the capital.

Yolk House, 2841 SE Croco Road, will offer American food for breakfast with a mix of Mexican options. The location was the former home of Norsemen Lakeheim Taproom & Restaurant.

Owner Rene Garcia said he wanted to do something a little different for the community. Garcia and his wife Cheryl also own a Mexican Topeka restaurant on Amigo, 5145 SW Topeka Blvd.

“I was watching this building for a while before it was even a restaurant,” Garcia said. “I looked at the building, but yes, then they didn’t really want it to be a Mexican restaurant.”

Wearing more breakfast opportunities in southeastern Topeka

Bringing something new to the southeastern side of Topeka has always been the goal of Garcy.

“We live in this area. We live in the southeastern part of Topeka and Lake Shauni,” Cheryl Garcia said. “There are not many options that way. There are many neighborhoods and families, so we just felt that it needed this area.

“Because most people, in my opinion, tend to go out to Wanamaker or West Side for different eating options, because they all tend to be there.”

The Yolk House menu will include such classic breakfast items as eggs, cookies and sauce, pancakes, waffles and more. Garchers said that Mexican breakfast items would include burrito for breakfast, taco, Quesadillas and more.

Customers can also expect mimosi, margarita and all -natural shakes.

Rene Garcia has built new cabins for the restaurant. The couple said the restaurant would have more than a “warm and cozy” atmosphere, opposed to the open plan of the floor it had before.

Ownership of two restaurants that are expected to be easy

As the owners of two restaurants, the couple said that the multiditude and balancing of the two should be easy with the help of the management.

“We’ll be with both. We’ll get involved between the two, as the yolk house is a little closer to our home,” Scheryl Garcia said. ” We will try to be as much as possible, especially, especially RenĂ©. “

Rene Garcia said the main thing he learned as a business owner that would help him balance restaurants did not stress from situations.

“I’m not able to plan my day or vacation because we always get a new phone call,” Garcia said.

He said there was always something new to be processed, so he helped him learn to stay calm when problems arise.

“We really can’t have a schedule when you run your own business – I think many people would agree to this,” Cheryl Garcia said. “You just have to go with him day by day.”

When will Yolk House open?

The couple said Yolk House will open in February to a date to be determined.

Currently, the couple is dealing with such elements related to maintenance as drawing and cleaning.

The couple envisages the restaurant to be open throughout the day.
