This day in Florida Purebred History – Star Gallant remains unbeaten with victory in Fountain of Youth – Ftboa

March 22, 1982 –In her fourth career start, the Florida Gallant star maintained her perfect record intact with four -length winning youth fountain (grade 2) at Gulfstream Park.

The distinguishing Pro broke to the top in the field of nine 3-year-olds before the star Gallant and Jockey Sandy Hooley head to the turn of the club house. Star Gallant never from that moment on, ending mile and sixteenth at 1:43 1/5. The Gallant star made another start before the Kentucky derby in Derby’s test on April 24 in Churchill Downs. The spudy bay again led to the last 50 yards, when the 56-1 Longshot Listcapade passed past it to win in length, such as Star Gallant Holding for a second.

The Gallant star stayed in Churchill Downs for the Kentucky derby, but missed her chance to face her rival from Florida again when a temporary writer received a colic attack 10 days before running for roses.

Unfortunately, Jockey was a shomeker on board, the Gallant star could not make a leading role in the derby and finished eighth when Gato del Sol gathered from the last two wins in a contradiction with 20-1.

The Gallant star left the Triple Crown Trail to win the 3rd grade Illinois derby at Sportman’s Park on May 15, before graduating third in the 1st grade mile, won by the Florida Conquistador Celo on May 31.

After a two -month vacation, Star Gallant won Suffolk Downs Sprint Handicap on August 8, after which he finished the year that works in Forego Handicap and seventh in the Essen 2 Handicap.

For his career, Star Gallant won nine out of 22 competitions with four seconds and two -thirds, winning $ 443,10. He was from my gallant from the Lisa star, a brave striker and was raised in Florida by Roma Stable.
