Many precious stones throughout the silver state are awaiting those who are ready to wander outside the valley in Las Vegas.
On a list published this month, the Nevada Tourism Department, also known as Travel Nevada, detailed 10 hand -selected experiences that its staff considers to be outdoor adventures. Entitled “Top 10” experiences there, “it will surely help Las Vegans discover new, outdoor places.
For those with desert wandering – or who would enjoy the free drop of parachute with views of the Hoover Dam at 120 miles / h – the list is forage for bucket lists and study in the new year.
“Nevada’s public lands are the home of some of the most diverse landscapes of the nation and exciting outdoor activities and there is something exceptional that is waiting for everyone,” said Tracy Barnhouse, CEO for Communication at Travel Nevada. “Whether you are chasing adrenaline or thirsting solitude, this list is a call to perceive Nevada’s spirit and” take a little there. “
Heli-jet at the “Swiss Alps of Nevada”
The Southern Unvadans may have never heard of Ruby Mountains, near the city of Elko in northeastern Nevada. The snow range, which recently received a 20-year federal protection against oil and gas survey, is one of the less known untouched places in the state.

Standing on top of the Hoover Dam creates a sense of immenseness in several other places around the world.

The sanctuary in the dark sky of slaughter in northwestern Nevada is recognized as one of the most dark places on the planet of Darksky International.
Situated hours of hotels, electricity or paved roads, experience is a major for examining the back end – and, of course, Stargazing.
Hot springs, ghostly city
Among the best kept secrets of the Nevada Desert are its hot springs and its cities ghosts.
In the perfect one or two, the list recommends Gold Point, a city of ghosts in Esmeralda County, where mining slowly died at the beginning of World War II.
In its peak the city had 125 houses, mail, hotels, shop and salons. Today, it is largely preserved because of a jackpot in Las Vegas, won by Herb Robbins, the man who bought most of the buildings with his partner Walt Cremine.
The city is throwing a stone from the hot springs of Fish Lake Valley, remote soaking overlooking the white mountains.

Nevada’s state gem, Virgin Valley’s black fire, can only be found south of the Oregon border and nowhere else in North America.
Rockhounding, as it is called, is a popular outdoor activity in a silver country, with very rare precious stones in the large pool and the Mojave Desert.

The highest world -class outdoor climbing wall
Residents of the largest small town in the world may be familiar with what it claims to be the highest artificial climbing wall in the world on the side of the Reno Whitney Peak Hotel.

Mountain biking in Eli
The city of Eli, about 240 miles north of Las Vegas, has tens of kilometers of trails, which are a paradise of a mountain motorcyclist.
This includes the only Nevada National Park, the large pool, as well as the Ward Recreation Zone and the Cave Lake State Park. The relatively distant city is a naturally stunning, home to 5,000-year-old pine trees.

Experience on Fremont Street in the center of Las Vegas is known for its world -class performances, bars and dining experiences.
This is also the location of the only adventure to travel in the Las Vegas Valley, which makes the list: a zipper just below the attraction ceiling that shoots riders from a 12-storey tower. Riders can choose between a starting point of 77 feet or 114 feet in height.

Probably one of the most famous places to relax in Nevada, Deep Blue Lake Tahoe has something to see.

See ancient rock drawings
The final entry into the list is in Austin, about 325 miles northwest of Las Vegas.
The so -called “petroglyphs” or images carved into rocks can be found throughout the country, including in the Las Vegas Valley. However, those in the TOQUIA Cave are unique, to a large extent because they are pictographic drawings, not carvings.
The bright red, yellow, black -white colors of the pictograms of the western place of Shoshone’s heritage allowed the drawings to withstand the time test.
