Theodore “Philip” Gilbert Sr., 81, from Sevvirville, Tennessee, formerly from Paskagula, Mississippi, died on Tuesday, February 11, 2025.
He was a retired police officer who loved his country and served his community. He liked to spend time with his family, especially when he enjoyed time with his grandchildren.
He was preceded by the death by his wife for over 50 years, Shaila Jane Gilbert.
He survived his children, Angela Hook (Stephen), Deborah Bosarge, Theodore Gilbert Jr. (Cheryl), Clarice McQueen (Scott), Catherine Georker (Robert) and Elizabeth Frank (Tim); 16 grandchildren; numerous great -grandchildren; brother, James Gilbert Jr. (Diane); And many other extended family and friends.
Instead of flowers, the family asks the donations to be made in honor of Philip at the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Donations can be sent by mail to 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
Family and friends will meet in the cemetery of Shady Grove, Dandridge, Tennessee, on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, for the service and intervention of graves at 11 o’clock.
