The Washington Protest 50501 attracts a crowd of over 1500 in Capitol – the speaker’s review

Olympia – a crowd of about 1500 people gathered in the State Capitol on Wednesday afternoon to protest against the presidential administration.

The protests against Trump are held on all 50 state capitols. Protesters gather against administration’s policies and the rights of immigrants, transgender people and other marginalized groups.

The crowd gathered around noon at the Capitol Campus, rapidly growing to more than 500. Another earlier rally began simultaneously in the steps of a legislative building, where a group of about 100 gathered for the Immigrant and Refugee rally of OneAmerica.

Participants in the rally 50501 held American flags and signs that read “Immigrants make America great” and “reject the 2025 project.” 50501 as a “decentralized quick response”.

The event was unstructured with an open megaphone, where attendees could go out and talk between the chants of “US” and “Trans Rights are our rights”.

By 2:30 pm, the crowd was closer to 1500. With the crowd growing up, they marched in a circle around the grass and dressed the road as some cars rushed to support.

Jesse Henek-Agur was holding a sign labeled “Dangerous oligarchs, grabbing everything,” nods by the newly created ministry of government efficiency, led by billionaire Elon Musk.

The level of participation, which has been fed in the federal government, has caused recent concern from Congress members. Today, a letter written by members of the Senate Intelligence Committee called Dodge Risk for American Privacy and National Security.

Henneck-Auiar said he was worried that the Trump administration was disassembling long-standing US institutions.

On another 50501 protests across the country in Minnesota, Michigan, Texas, Wisconsin and Indiana, protesters shared similar messages that denied the 2025, Trump and Musk project.

Project 2025, a far -right guide to the US Government, written by the Inheritance Foundation, is often mentioned in rallies in both Olympia and Seattle in recent months. The proposal of the Federal Department of Education, the elimination of climate policies and the cancellation of the defense of Dei and LGBTQ programs, among others, caused fear.

Monique Osa said he is an American from the first generation, whose family is from Colombia and gathering is an opportunity to stand up for the community.

“America was a sure refuge for people around the world and was a leader of democracy,” Osa said.

The recent Stump stopping of the USAID Trump funds, the agency responsible for providing foreign humanitarian aid, was particularly worrying for her.
