Seattle (AP) -Jordan Morris of Seattle scored two goals on Saturday night to connect a franchise record before his own goal in the stop time helped FC Charlotte play Sounders at 2-2 in the opening season at the two teams Rain- soaked Lumen Field.
After two wrong touches from The Sounders, Idan Toklomati played a low entry from the right side, which was diverted to a nearby post by Yemar Gomez Andrade of Seattle and threw himself between Stefan Fry’s goalkeeper in the third minute of braking.
Christian Kahlina had six savings for Charlotte.
Seattle had a 58% possession and ahead of Charlotte 18-7, 8-1 of the target.
Adelson Maland, 23, in his fourth season with Charlotte, scored his second goal of the career in the 35th to make 1-1. The 6-foot-1 defender climbed high and went home a corner kick played by Pep Biel. MLS’s first MLS goal opened the club’s account in 2024, a 1-0 win over New York City FC almost a year ago.
Morris perfectly moves on a low entrance, played by Georgi Mounu for Zalp, who bounced off the ground to the top net to give Seattle a 1-0 lead in the 19th minute.
Albert Rusnak, of Course, played Morris’ ball, who slipped behind the defense, and as goalkeeper Kalin was setting his line, scoring a goal for the first touch from the top of the penalty area to give Seattle 2-2 in the 49th A minute.
Morris has a 68 goal for a regular career season with The Sounders, three shy Raidíaz club records from 2018-24. The duo is bound by a franchise lead with 86 goals in all competitions. The 10 Morris’s Multi-Lal matches in the regular season are tied to Clint Dempsey for the second most in Sounders history (Ruidíaz, 12).
