The administrative building of Utah County was shown on Monday, February 24, 2025, in Provo.
The Utah County Administration building in Provo opened again on Monday after it was temporarily closed due to an internal incident with an electrical incident last week.
An electric jump generated “significant” smoke on Thursday, but it was contained by district workers before a fire happened, the county said.
According to a message, the building has undergone a process of upgrading electrical components when the incident occurred. The Provo Fire Service responded to the scene.
The building was closed on Friday to be inspected and repaired and to restore air quality.
No one was injured during the incident, and other district buildings in the neighborhood were not affected, the district said.
