The Texas Governor Greg Abat sends condolences to Jimmy Carter’s late wife – AOL

The Texas Governor Greg Abut mourns the death of former President Jimmy Carter by sending thoughts and prayers to former first lady Rosalin Carter, who has been dead for more than a year.

“Cecilia and I send our prayers and the deepest condolences to the first lady Rosalin Carter and the whole Carter family,” a statement from the governor and his wife, published on Sunday, said in the Texas Station WFAA.

The 39th President of the United States died on Sunday in Georgia. He celebrates his 100th birthday in October. His wife, at 77, died in November 2023. She was 96 years old.

Later, Abbot issued a statement about X, offering condolences to the whole Carter family without mentioning the former first lady.

“After led a life marked by the selfless service of the American people, President Carter leaves behind a great inheritance as a husband, father, naval officer, governor and Nobel Prize winner and he will be very missed by many,” the amended statement reads in part S

Carter died in Plains, Georgia, where he was born on October 1, 1924. He was under the home hospice of February 18, 2023.

Carter is serving a term in the White House, which ended in 1981. The rest of his life will be dedicated to a public service that includes construction houses for the poor.

He is also the author of 32 books and won the Nobel Peace Prize in 2002. No president lived longer or enjoyed a longer former president. Carter told family members in the summer that it was his goal to live long enough to vote once more in November, which he did.
