Corpus Christi, Texas – For 66 years, riders on southern Texas paths have maintained the tradition of cowboy alive. For Jared Pollard, it was one of his favorite times of the year, grown up.

“Probably my favorite memories [are] Riding with my father. It was a time when I and he had to spend quality time with each other, “Jared said.

Jared’s parents began to ride in the 70s of the last century and gave the spirit of a cowboy to their son, who continues to maintain the tradition alive.

“As in school, we don’t really learn so much about the cowboy tradition, but my father he tells me a bunch of what they did, and then, as when I’m on a wagon, I introduce myself there in the old days with them said Jared.

Jaila’s most memories were driving in a wagon, but now she’s rides on her horse with her sister beside her.

“Because this trip is here a long time ago and before my parents, it was around and I want to see if I can continue to come,” Jaila said.

Although the sun sets for older cowboys, Jared said that this path was interested in the new generation of cowboys and cowbopes.

“It definitely means not only my family, but also the other children who come and do it,” Jared said. “Since we will not have this without them, you know, they are the ones who will take it in the future.”

The riders of the South Texas Trail will stop at Bevil tonight and head to Pettus tomorrow. They will arrive in San Antonio on Friday, February 7th.
