The Senate confirms a new director of the Natural Resources Department – WIS NEWS 10

Columbia, SC (WIS) -retired Major General Thomas S. Mulikin, D -R, JD, was confirmed by the Senate as the new director of the National Assembly Unit on Wednesday.

Mulikin was appointed in November after the seven members of the South Carolina Natural Resources Council unanimously elected it.

“The Natural Resources Department has a strong and exceptional leader in Tom Mulikin,” said governor Henry McMaster. “His experience in environmental law and policy, combined with his proven leadership as chairman of the National Assembly Commission, makes him uniquely qualified for this role. I look forward to working with G -n -Mulikin as we continue our efforts to protect and preserve natural resources. ”

After his confirmation, Mulikin was sworn in in the Senate House.

“It is an honor for me to be selected as the appointment as Director of the Department of Natural Resources in South Carolina and I look forward to working with the incredible staff to continue and develop the important work of SCDNR,” Mulikin said after his appointment. “Thanks to the board for this incredible opportunity and I look forward to winning this position through the Senate Confirmation process.”
