The Seattle Mariners minor league system continues to be viewed very favorably by those in the scouting department.
Since the All-Star break, Seattle’s minor league system has been recognized as one of the best in the league. The organization had seven prospects ranked in Baseball America’s top 100, more than any other team.
MLB Pipeline released their own top 100 list and also had seven Mariners minor leaguers ranked on their list.
MLB Pipeline ranks Colt Emerson #20, Lazaro Montes #42, Cole Young #49, Harry Ford #65, Felnin Celeste #74, Johnny Farmello #96 and Michael Arroyo at #98.
Breaking down the positions of each player, Seattle has four infielders, two outfielders and one catcher ranked in the top 100.
Most of these prospects who are ranked will likely remain in the top 100 until they make the big leagues.
Young is the only top-100 player projected to be on the Mariners’ major league roster in 2025. He and fellow prospect Harry Ford competed in the 2024 MLB All-Star Futures Game.
Emerson, Montes and Arroyo are coming off solid seasons that started with Seattle’s low-end Modesto Nuts and ended on a high note with the Everett AquaSox. All three are expected to start or be promoted to the Double-A Arkansas Travelers in 2025.
Farmello and Celesten finished the year with injuries, but are two of the most athletic secondary players the Mariners have in their system. Celesten is expected to start the year healthy, while Farmelo likely won’t return until midseason after undergoing surgery to repair a torn ACL.
