Smith and River, located on 50 N. Sierra Street, have closed indefinitely.

“Although we do not have immediate plans to move Smith and River, our focus will be on our other group businesses,” Colin and Meribet Smith, Smith and River owners, said in an email to RGJ.

The restaurant closed on Saturday, February 15, after nearly three years in the bus business.

In November, Colin and Meribet Smith acquired the Virgil building on Avenue Wales after the acquisition of 2023 at Franco Baking Co. in Sparks.

What next for the location of Smith and River in the center of Renault?

In March, Sergio Romero, owner of La Condesa Eatery, plans to open a new restaurant in the former location of Smith and River.

“We would like to sincerely thank our patrons of Smith and River for their constant support for the last few years,” Colin and Meribet Smith said in the statement. “We absolutely love to wear creative and inspiring cuisine in North Nevada and will continue to do it with our catering and special events throughout the region.”
