The Redlands High School team again won the county’s model crown.
The Team Blue won the model process of San Bernardino County on Saturday, January 25, leaving a field of 23 teams to request a victory at the San Bernardino Justice Center.
This was the second consecutive year that the school team at the school won the district title – and the 17th time the Redlands High team won the competition.
The 17-member Blue team beat Crosstown Redlands East Valley High School, which finished second. The Redlands High team will now head to the March state race.
More than 425 students from San Bernardino County from 20 high schools participated in this year’s event.
In the model process, high school students argue for real judges and are evaluated by practitioners. This year’s case, People v. The competition is organized by the head of schools in San Bernardino County and the District Prosecutor’s Office of San Bernardino County.
“We hope that opportunities like this competition deepen students’ understanding of their civic responsibilities and inspire them to actively engage in society,” said an inscription from San Bernardino County Ted Alekh.
In the neighboring County Riverside, the layout began last week.
The competition began on Tuesday, January 21, and will end on Tuesday, February 18, with the last round in the Riverside Historical Court in the center of Riverside. This will be the 43rd district competition.
The winners in the county will fight in the California test race, from March 14 to March 16 in Los Angeles. Victor will move to the national model process from May 8 to 10 in Phoenix.
Last year’s Riverside County champion was Riverside’s Poly High School, which won for the 20th time.
