Detroit tigers have canceled their first spring training game from 2016 on Monday because of the rain that is predicted to continue throughout the day.
Detroit had to play Toronto in Lakeland, Florida, but the game was canceled a few hours before the planned first pitch at 13:05 EST.
Adverse weather time also led to the cancellation of Houston’s game against Miami in West Palm Beach, and later Baltimore’s game against Atlanta in Sarassota, which was initially repelled with the hope of playing this game.
On Monday, there were rain conditions through the sites of the Grapefruit League in Florida, including Fort Myers and Sarasota, where the teams preventedly changed the planned start of the games.
The games on Monday were pushed from three o’clock to 16:05 EST were New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox at Fort Myers; and Braves at Orioles. These changes to the schedule were announced on Sunday.
Baltimore eventually announced the cancellation of the game against Atlanta on Monday around 1:05 pm, which was the initial start of the game.
Problems with time during spring workouts are a reminder of Tampa Bay’s rays of what they may have to deal with when they have to play their home matches in their regular season outside this season.
The flights will play their games this season at TAMPA at Steinbrenner Field, the Yankees spring training base. Hurricane Milton tore off the roof of St. Petersburg’s tropic field on October 9, leaving the usual home stadium of the rays, which can be used for at least 2025.
Steinbrenner Field, which has about 11,000 seats, is exposed to time, unlike the tropes. The Florida summers are known for the thunderstorms in the afternoon and early in the evening, and this even happens sometimes during spring workouts.
