“The price is right live,” stopped in the center of the Cane’s lifting river, invites the locals of Baton Rouge to “get off” a chance to win a trip to Costa Rica.
The city of Baton Rouge is not disappointed with this turnout on Wednesday, February 19. Before 7:30 pm, the line was wrapped around the building. Despite the windy and frosty meteorological conditions outside, over 1600 people stood on the line, trembling and tied, hoping to become the winner.
Todd Newton hosted the live experience, and he kept the audience on his feet with his witty jokes and humorous comments. The live show paid tribute to the late Bob Barker, who hosted “The Price Proper” for 35 years until retirement in 2007.
Guests of different ages and origin were present, with one thing in common: nostalgia. For many generations, it was a show that they could enjoy their grandparents.
“I came because it was a memory of childhood for me,” says Mona Parms, a 42-year-old native of Baton Rouge.
Parms sat on the balcony and jumped with excitement as she was called to participate in one of the games. Although he didn’t win, Parms was still ecstatic so she could be part of the show.
“It was something like euphoric,” Parms began. “Everyone wants their name to call, they want a chance, but for me it goes deeper than that. I watched the show as a kid, so I actually got my name, called almost 35 plus years later. It’s an incredible feeling. “
64-year-old Doris Wales-Meleon from Prairieville, Louisiana explained that seeing “price is right” is one of the many things on her bucket list.
“I really enjoyed myself, with people clapping and enthusiasm for each other,” Wales-Hem said. “Although I didn’t call, it was an experience where everyone was encouraged, so I really liked it.”
27 -year -old Alexandra Diaz was another participant who hoped to score a big one. As she was sitting on the edge of her place, hoping that her name would be called, Diaz thought about the memories this show gave her over the years.
“I’ve always seen the price is right,” Diaz said. “I watched” The price is right “with my grandmother since I was a kid, so I had to come to see him personally at least once.”
Unfortunately, Diaz’s name has never been announced, but it has not prevented her from having fun.
“He returns to childhood memories, but it’s just a fun game show that anyone can watch,” Diaz said.
“The price is right” occupies a special place in the hearts of many, returning memories from childhood to most of its viewers. “The price is right live” was more than a show, it was a chance to survive nostalgic moments and feel the excitement in the audience. For many who came out, it was not about whether they had won or lost, they were just happy that they could remember in good times with the people they love.
