The Odessa deal promises a powerful new outlet for Lubbock – AOL

A franchise deal in Odessa will bring powerful new business to Lubbock over the next few years.

Batteries Plus announced a deal that will add stores in Abilene, Big Spring, Lubbock, Midland and Odessa, according to a news release. The company is known for its wide range of batteries, light bulbs, mobile phone repair and key replacement and cutting services.

“Adding hard-working entrepreneurs like Liz and Jay (McKee) to the Batteries Plus team is extremely exciting for us, and we look forward to continuing to expand our presence in the state of Texas,” said Joe Malmuth, Chief Development Officer. “We already have a strong presence in East Texas, so the opportunity to enter the West Texas market is a nice milestone for Batteries Plus as we continue to be an industry leader.”

The stores will be operated by Liz and Jay McKee, a husband and wife team, with the first store opening in Odessa in the first quarter of 2025.

“We couldn’t be more excited to join the Batteries Plus family,” said Liz McKee. “Odessa is a metropolis that just keeps growing and there’s nothing like Batteries Plus in our community, so there’s a huge opportunity for us to be able to fill the void for our neighbors when it comes to battery and phone repair needs.” We look forward to opening our doors and serving the community.”
