South Carolina Women’s Basketball beat Tennessee last weekend, keeping her place at No. 1 on SEC. However, the best three teams are constantly shifting and the fight for # 2 remains strict competition.
South Carolina Domination Gamecocks
Raised second in the AP poll, Gamecocks in South Carolina is the current leader of women’s basketball at the Southeast Conference. Gamecocks are 20-1 in general and 8-0 in SEC, having a winning series of 15 games. On Monday, Gamecocks in South Carolina dominated Tennessee, with five players scoring over 10 points. Freshman Joyce Edwards led 18 points, sophomore Milalisa Fulvilly lags 11 points behind, and junior striker Chlo Kitts, junior guard Raven Johnson and senior guard Te-Paopa all scored 10 points.
Today, Edwards was named a freshman of the week, her third honor of SEC in the 2024-2025 season. The freshman with 6 feet-3 is an average of 12.4 points per game, 4.9 rebounds, 1.1 assists and has a field goal percentage of 56.3. An excellent freshman, Edwards quickly became a favorite of fans.

Three -way tie per second
They are behind Gamecocks are three rising teams that fight for second place: LSU, Texas and Kentucky. All three teams are 6-1 in the Southeast Conference.
LSU Tigers lost to Gamecocks last Friday by ten points, ending its unbeaten season and dropping two places from its previous # 5 ranking. LSU women’s basketball is now at No. 7, with a record of 21-1 as a whole.
Texas Longhorm is ranked # 5 of the AP and is 20-2 this season. Longhorns rose after four wins in the back against anchow, Maryland, Tennessee and Ole Miss. Prior to No. 7, Longhorns exceeded LSU and requested its position on No. 5 and No. 2 on SEC. Longhorns senior player Taylor Jones was named a player of the SEC week after his sixth double doubles for the season, with 21 points and 14 fights against Tennessee.

Kentucky is currently No. 12 in the nation and is 17-2. The victory of the nine matches of Wildcats ended against Texas A&M last Thursday with a loss of 61-55. However, winning 89-69 against Arkansas over the weekend has hardened the Wildcats ranking.
Florida female basketball
Gator’s women’s basketball has a losing series of three games after playing Ole Miss, LSU and Auburn last week. With a record of the season 11-10 and 2-5 in SEC, Florida Gators sit at # 12 in the conference. Gators are ready to play Vanderbilt this Thursday home in the center of Stephen O’Connell at 19:00
