Laredo, Texas (KGNS) – People who have passed the United States through the Mexican country may have experienced a delay in checkpoints, partly due to the presence of troops of the National Guard.
As part of an agreement to avoid tariffs, the Mexican government has agreed to become troops of the National Guard at the checkpoints in Mexico.
This additional security measure causes traffic jams for those who are targeting Mexico to the US
The mayor of Larendo, Dr. Victor Trevino, says he was in communication with Mexican officials, mentioning that the border security remains a top priority for both administrations.
“With challenges and responsibilities, all these difficulties come, but these are things we can manage. These are things we can survive, and the state has also sent the National Guard, so we live in difficult times. We have to get to a point where everything becomes stable, but in the meantime we have to be patient, “Trevino said.
Trevino added that the troops were there to help and help law enforcement.
