Washington (TND) – A man from South Carolina died of a heart attack while trying to bury his girlfriend’s body – who had just strangled to death – in their backyard, police say.
On Saturday morning, MPs at the Edgefield County Crown office and Edgfield County EMS responded to a call to an unprecedented man, later identified as 60-year-old Joseph Anthony McKinnon of Trenton, SC lying in his yard.
After arriving, investigators found that McKinnon was dead.
McKinnon had no signs of trauma and natural reasons were suspected, “said police in a statement.” While investigating death and making news of the next Kin, a second body, he was in a freshly dug pit. “
After digging further, the authorities have discovered the body of 65-year-old Patrick Ruth Dent in the pit, police said.
Police believe that McKinnon attacked their home a day and strangled her to death.
Investigators have revealed that they believe that McKinnon has tied her up and wrapped her in garbage bags before throwing her body into the pit. Witnesses told police that they say McKinnon had dug a hole in his yard the day before the attack.
Later autopsy showed that McKinnon died of a heart attack, just before he was completed with the filling of the freshly dug grave.
The neighbors were surprised by the news, saying they were concerned about safety in the area.
“We have no idea and we ask. At least let us know that this is something they have in control or have no control. Do we have to make sure everything is locked healthy? Watch our dogs or our animals? We have a farmer and there, you know, it’s scary, “Down Huaani told WJBF News.
