Topeka, Kan. (WIBW) – A man from Topeka was arrested after the second murder in the city since 2025 on Monday, February 10th.
Topeka’s police responded to a local hospital around 1 hour. Saturday with respect to a victim suffering from a life-threatening firearm, which took place in 1700 block on SE 23rd Street.
Later, the victim died of his injuries. The deceased was identified as the 29 -year -old Chavis Collins of Topeka.
As a result of the investigation, Desmond A. Lindsay, 23 years old from Topeka, was arrested and booked in the Department of Amendments to the Shawney County on the following charges:
- Murder in the 2nd degree; Intentionally
- Criminal release from firearms; Reckless in borrowed dwelling
- Aggravated attack; Using a deadly weapon
This was the second investigation into the city’s killings in 2025.
