A man is faced with a shooting murder that left a woman dead on Tuesday night in southern Renault.
Police say they were summoned to South Meadows Park near Double Diamond shortly after 5:00 pm, where they eventually found a 49-year-old woman dead in Kondo.
Police say they have negotiated with suspects, 50-year-old Jarrd Farar to leave the apartment where he was detained and then reserved in prison.
During the investigation, police claims she has learned that Farrar is meeting the victim, whose name has not yet been released.
Farar was arrested for open murder with a deadly weapon and booked at the Washo County Prison.
Detectives believe this is an isolated incident without a threat to the public.
The shooting remains under investigation.
