The male tennis in Indiana has lost 4-3 from the State University of Boise in Boise, Idaho. The Husers fell after leading Broncos 3-1 to the end of the match.

Focusing on the match, Boise State was 6-1 in the season and was not defeated (3-0) at home. In the meantime, Indiana was unbeaten at 9-0, but only played in one time. They won this match over the State University of Middle Tennessee on February 7th.

Indiana was still missing from her player # 1, a sophomore, Facundo Stinnis, due to an injury – the one who was aside over the weekend, when the Husicians played three matches in three days. But even though it was so close to victory, Indiana began to fall apart. Boise State took the victory of court # 5. Senior James Van Herzle beat Sherer 7-6 (7-2), 4-6, 6-3. With Van Herzle’s victory, Boise State reduced the deficit to 3-2.

The bronze continued to fight a decisive victory on Court 4. Now the result was tied to 3. The match was reduced to anyone who would win on Court # 2, as all the eyes focused there.

In the game back of court of court # 2, junior deacon Thomas in Indiana came out directly against the sophomore Carson Baker. The game went to a series of tiebreaker in which Baker took advantage and defeated Thomas. Baker won 7-6 (7-3), 6-7 (7-9), 7-6 (8-6) to ultimately achieve the victory for Broncos.

Despite Indiana’s efforts, she failed to achieve her goal to win 10 straight matches to open the year. Indiana’s next match is against the University of Memphis at noon on Sunday in downtown IU tennis in Bloomington.
