Wilmington, NC (Wect) – there are less than two weeks to the annual Wilmington marathon and hundreds of local runners register for the race every year, including Charlotte Coripher.

“Wilmington is the only one in which I have a series, so that means I’ve been doing it every year since I started,” Coricher said.

Her marathon strip is generally really what most people leaves in the dust.

Corriher has held a marathon in all 50 states and one in the Bahamas. Her first marathon was in Disneyworld in 2006.

“This is from there,” Coruster said. “So, the coming of a little more than 19 years of running marathons”

During these 19 years, she hit her 100th Wilmington marathon race in 2017.

About seven years later, Corey is preparing to hit his 300th marathon at this year’s Wilmington marathon on February 22.

“For many people, yes, that’s incredible,” she said. “People are struggling to even think of managing their first.”

She says her secret to hit the ground is to make it fun.

“I was running like Omar in Maine, running like South Bell in Charleston,” Coricher said.

Corey’s path is like dressing up in a suit.

“It made it more engaging and a 26.2 mile distraction,” she said.

For her large cornerstone, she plans to dress like a pirate. But the costume or not, Corey says it does it to prove that anything is possible and anyone can cross the finish line if it enters the job.

“Sometimes yes, it gets difficult and you are fighting, but I just learned to push it,” she said. “So we hope that it inspires people to think that the average person can go out there and manage a marathon.”
