LAREDO, Texas (KGNS) – Paranormal activity is back in the spotlight at KGNS as Torres Paranormal Investigations is back to look for any signs of a ghostly presence at the station’s new home on the Bob Bullock Loop. The group, known for its work investigating the unexplained, previously visited the former KGNS building on Del Mar Boulevard, where it reported numerous ghostly encounters.
In part one of a three-part series, Angel Torres, founder of Torres Paranormal Investigations (TPI), leads the team in searching the new KGNS building with specialized equipment, including SLS (Structured Light Sensor) cameras used to detect figures, to which investigators believe may be ghosts. “We have provided our TPI team here, we have all our equipment here,” explained Torres. “We’ll start with our SLS cameras so we can see the shapes. We will also be able to talk to the figurines. We’ll go around the whole facility and see how many we can catch this time.”
As the team began their investigation, Investigator Ruiz quickly took unusual testimony. “There was someone on that pole hanging from the top,” Ruiz reported, pointing to evidence of possible paranormal activity. “There is an entity there. Look, you’re there and it’s still there,” he said, describing strange shapes that appeared on the SLS’s camera screen.
The team reported seeing multiple ghostly figures. “I grabbed a lot of figurines as soon as we walked out of that room,” Ruiz said. “There was one on the floor, kind of like a dance. I caught two more people or entities that were in each room.
Other devices captured additional phenomena. “There’s a lot of activity here, figurines, people in shadows, a lot of voices — a lot of entities everywhere,” Torres said.
The team also used infrared sensors to detect cold spots, considered a telltale sign of ghosts. “We also found a shadow person that we caught and we have him on our infrared camera. All you see in yellow is the heat of the body, but the individual who is in between – dark blue – this means that something is cold. Spirits are cold. That’s how we find out who they are,” explained Torres.
As the investigation continues, Ruiz notices a pattern. “I don’t know if they’ve been moving around the facility, but they’ve been scattered all over this place,” he said as several figures appeared to be moving around on the monitors. “Wow, it’s getting confusing. It’s also like an infrared connection right here. You can see the shadows dancing – here’s another one from behind.’
According to Torres, the new building has shown even more activity than the old one. “Well, the other building we went to was haunted. We had a lot of communication with spirits,” he said. “Yeah, it’s more haunted here, but it’s three to four times the size, but it’s really haunted. We have plenty of evidence that KGNS here is haunted.”
Torres Paranormal Investigations has conducted over 100 investigations in the Laredo area for nearly a decade. While the team shares findings from their ghost hunts, they keep the investigation sites confidential at the request of the property owners.
