The Federal Judge in Florida, who controls the case for Donald Trump’s classified documents, blocks Prosecutor General Merick Garland to release a report prepared by a prosecutor who leads the classified criminal cases against the elected president.
A stunning order of the district judge Aileen Cannon arrived on Monday after the former president and his teammates called on the courts to prevent special lawyer Jack Smith to publish a report that was expected to describe his investigations in detail after his president.
Cannon – which was appointed to the Trump bench in 2020 – effectively ordered the Ministry of Justice to reject the instructions that invest decisions on special reports of the lawyer in the hands of the Prosecutor General.
It is unclear whether Cannon even has the power to make such an exceptional move in a case that is no longer in her court. It is also unclear whether Cannon can block the release of the entire report, including Smith’s investigation into Trump’s attempts to cancel the 2020 presidential election, which was prosecuted in a completely different court.

Her order on Monday temporarily prohibits Garland, Smith and all other employees of the Ministry of Justice to “release, share or submit” any projects of the report for at least three days after a decision of the Court of Appeal on the release of the report.
The decision transfers the final steps from federal prosecutors to publicly share their findings of investigations to refuse to classified Trump documents and his efforts to cancel the 2020 presidential election.
Trump learned about Cannon’s decision during a press conference in Mar-A-Lago.
He called Cannon a “very strong and very brilliant judge.”
“So he wanted to make a report, just before I took office, probably, so he would make a 500 -page report and this would be a fake report, just as the investigation was a false investigation,” he told Smith prosecutor’s office. “They are not allowed to issue the report? That’s how it should be. … why should he be allowed to write a fake report? “
On Monday, Trump’s attorneys filed a request with the request of the courts to stop Garland and Smith to release the report and immediately fire Smith.
Trump’s legal team also called Smith, “outside a control private citizen, who has not constituted as a prosecutor,” aimed at harming Trump politically.
“Accordingly, since Smith has offered an illegal course of action, you must counteract his plan and remove it immediately,” Trump’s lawyers Todd Blanche and John Loro wrote.
“If Smith is not removed, then the processing of his report must be postponed to President Trump’s arriving prosecutor, in accordance with the expressed will of the people,” they added.
Smith had planned to resign sometime before Trump’s office on January 20. Trump wanted to fire him “within two seconds” from his return to office.
His expected final report follows a decision following the election of effective termination of his criminal pursuit of the two Trump federal cases after a longstanding attempt to pursue Trump for suspected crimes, indicated in hundreds of pages of evidence.
