The Institute of Desert Researcher hosts STEM events for children before KTV – KTVN

The STEM Education Program at the Institute of Research (DRI) hosts free educational events for children before K from March to May.

The events are focused on the development of literacy through scientific projects.

Students will experience practical experiments, history time and interactive games as part of the event curriculum. In addition, every child will receive free books while deliveries continue.

Free events happen throughout Nevada – click the link below to get more information or to register for a place for this place:

  • Mesquite: 12:30 – 14:30 on March 15th at Mesquite Works Steam Center [Theme: Ecosystems]
  • Renault: 3:00 – 18:00 on March 15 on the public market Reno [Theme: Electricity]
  • Folk: 3:00 – 18:00 on April 25 at the library of Elko [Theme: Electricity]
  • Winnemucca: 12:00 – 15:00 on April 26 at the Humboldt County Library [Theme: Electricity]
  • Las Vegas: 11:30 am – 1:30 pm on April 27 at the Clark County Library [Theme: Ecosystems]
  • Boulder City: 10:00 – 12:00 on May 17 at the library of the city of Boulder [Theme: Ecosystems]

Nevada teachers will also have access to the activities used in these events through “ecosystem researchers” and “this is an electric” teaching kits provided by the DRI Education Team through the Green Box program.
