The former QB engages details why he has given up from FSU, still believes in Mike Norvel – Sports Illustrated

Florida had an interesting mileage with discounts in the era of Mike Norvel. Although the school has lost six defender commands in the last seven cycles, it also produced a finalist of Heisman and NFL-receiving signal during its term.

It is difficult to find a backstage look at the whiteboard who they want “Nles” and which one does not. The deposits can come out of the left field or the writing can simply be on the wall and a disappointing season can throw a wrench throughout the class.

The former FSU’s commitment and 4-star defender Brady Sysigiel described in detail his reasons to give up Florida, but said he still believed in what Norvel was building in Talahassi.

“Well, I committed myself before the year. I think I had a really good relationship with coach Norvel and the coach Tocracz. They were five in the country when I committed myself,” Smigiel told On3 Sports. “They had a crime that flourished at the time and some things changed.”

Florida followed the ACC 2023 Championship with a 2-10 disaster from 2024, which led to dismissal of both insult and protective coordinators, along with their wide coach of receivers. Norvel gave up a player after hiring a new offensive coordinator Gus Malzan, and the rookie of the High School in Newbury Park said he “changed everything”.

“Obviously they didn’t have the season we were expecting, but I still believe in the coach Norvel. I still believe they would change things around. Only some changes happened in the extra -season with their staff – dismissing their (offensive coordinator), and I decided, I decided, That it is just best to open my recruitment.

Smigiel said his commitment was to the former offensive coordinator Alex Atkins and the Playcalling of Norvell. He also said they were bringing a different crime from what he was interested in. Although Norvel and Malzan have worked together in the past and have managed a very similar style of playing.

“At the end of the day, I committed to coach Atkins. I was committed to coach Norvel by calling the plays. It changed everything. I committed himself because he was calling the plays, and now that he was not (they are) bringing in A completely different crime.

As for Seminoles, Norvel has shown the ability to build a championship team from scratch after leaving a disappointing season. It may be best for the players who appear on the first day and participate in the ascent and those who do not find better situations that meet their desires and needs.

Atkins are expected to train narrow edges in LSU, so this is an opportunity to see Smigiel in the Bayou country next year.
