Meta, the Mother of Facebook and Instagram, expects to spend between $ 60 and $ 65 billion to build new projects in 2025, as part of this investment comes to Arizona.
The company announced on January 30 that the first two buildings of its MESA massive data center, located at 3841 S. Ellsworth Road, are now operating and part of the global network of Meta data centers.
The MESA data center can be the home of Meta metals, including Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp and Meta AI.
“We are serving traffic now on the first two buildings and the construction of the rest of the campus will continue in the next few years,” says Brad Davis, the Meta Data Center Community and the director of the economic developer.
The first two buildings have been under construction since 2021, and the company is currently building three more buildings at the 396 -acre site data center, which it acquired in 2021 for $ 123.2 million. Initially, the second phase was expected to function in 2026, and Davis said it was likely when it was to open.
