The first Florida Capitol is looking for volunteer associates – WFSU News

The two -year year of Talahasi may end, but the cubic meter of the first capitol in Florida is still at the western end of Cascades Park. Mark Carpenter, a descendant of a person who helped build the original structure, donates the timber that made the reply possible.

“Talahasi came to the capital; the capital did not come to Talahasi, because when it was built, there is nothing here. So I love Florida’s history, I decided that it would be interesting to be able to participate in the construction of the reply.”

But now the reply needs volunteers to greet visitors and tell them about the history behind the original headquarters of 1824 of the Florida government. Friends of the first Capitol website have more information.
