On National Day to sign last Wednesday, Sami Mitchell IV officially signed his letter of intention to join the Florida A&M football team for 2025. S

Mitchell will not arrive at Famo’s campus until the summer after graduating from Western on June 2. But the 18-year-old is already thinking about championships.

“I plan to get to work, grind and hope to be prepared,” Mitchell told the Talahassi Democrat. “I try to go back to the SWAC championship as they did two years ago.”

By visiting Famu, Mitchell will follow in the footsteps of his father, Sami III, who graduated from the Business and Industry School in 2004.

The thought of becoming a Rattler inheritance made Mitchell IV’s decision to come easily to Famu.

“The fact that my father also went there – I just want to raise the inheritance,” explained Mitchell IV. “It’s a good school to be.”

His father told him that Mitchell IV had 15 proposals for scholarships to play football in college.

Famu rose to the top as the most suitable for Mitchell IV to continue his football and academic career. He is interested in studying journalism and sports sciences.

“He has the mental sharpness to be a valuable asset for the program and will be locked to bring it to the next level to go professionally,” said Mitchell III. “The University of Florida A&M was one of the most amazing D1 game opportunities and from an academic point of view. He has a rich heritage and heritage. It is an honor and humble that I can make my son walk on the playgrounds I left in 2000 ”.”
